Swine flu (H1N1) V Preventive Measures

In order to prevent the spread of the new influenza virus (H1N1) and the increasing of number of infected people, and following the advice of the former Minister of the Department of Health, Mr. Chen Chien-Jen, an initiative which is supported by the bishops, the CRBC announces that during the period of epidemic, the following measures are to be taken:

  1. Faithful having contracted swine flu or showing suspected symptoms are exempted from their duty of attending Sunday Mass.
  2. Faithful suffering from normal flu, coughing, must wear masks while attending church assembly and receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
  3. One should take ones body temperature, wash hands regularly and disinfect ones hands with alcohol.
  4. Eucharistic ministers should strictly observe the anti-epidemic measures when they bring the Holy Communion to the sick.
