The objectives and areas
of work in which the Cicm in Taiwan dedicate themselves are:
To strengthen the
parishes entrusted to CICM as participatory communities of Christians
and catechumens, fully alive, carrying the mission of the Church into
society and inviting non-Christians to learn to know the love of
Christ (Cf CICM Constitutions, Art. 10.2 & 10.3). They plan together
their pastoral activities in order to foster more cooperation and
solidarity among the parishes by organizing inter-parish programs.
To highlight the dignity
and role of the laity in the life of the Church and to invite them to
receive formation and take upon them various lay ministries in the
parish communities.
To minister to our
communities in the language spoken by the people.
To inspire and animate
young people with the spirit of Christ and His gospel and train ( ,If
them to become responsible leaders in the Church.

To witness to Christ's
preference for the poor in building a more just and fraternal world.
CICM wants to minister to workers and make the Local Church community
become more aware of injustices and human rights violations in
Taiwanese society,
and more concerned about the Integrity of Creation. In its works, CICM
upholds the dignity of the human person. the value of life and of the
family.
To serve the needs of
migrant workers and welcome them to celebrate their faith in the
parishes.

To be concerned with
enculturation of our faith. and to enter in dialogue with the faithful
of other religious traditions and with all persons of good will,
aware that the Spirit is at work everywhere, in view of mutual
enrichment, to promote together the values of the Kingdom, and to make
known to them the riches given us in Jesus Christ, the Son of God (Cf
CICM Constitutions, Art. No 4)
To invite Christians to
reach out to the Church in the People's Republic of China by entering
into cooperation and exchange programs through the CICM China Program
and the SMCO China Apostolate.
To foster in the
particular Church of Taiwan a concern for the universal mission, both
within and beyond the Taiwan boundaries. CICM welcomes those who want
to share its life and mission. (Cf CICM Constitutions, Art. 11 & 57).
