August
2009: Immaculate Heart of Mary Church
was opened in Panchiao.
On August
9, 2009 the Kuang Jen Catholic community officially beame a diocesan
parish. The official name is Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
The bishop appointed the Maryknoll priest who has been in the
community for many years to be the parish priest. The bishop also
requested Willy Ollevier to be appointed as the assistant to the
parish priest. There were mixed feelings among the parishioners. Some
thought that this parish should automatically be given to CICM.

August 2009:
Visit of Father Edouard TSIMBA, CICM General Superior to CICM Taiwan.
From August 3 to 11, 2009 the
general Superior Edouard Tsimba visited our Taiwan district.

| December 2009:
The Provincial Superior moves to Taipei.
Following his appointment as
provincial superior and in line with the previous administration
recommendation, Frans de Ridder, New Provincial Superior ( 2010-2013)
moved to Taipei. Jean Claude went to fetch him at the airport. Two
days later he celebrated together with all Taiwan confreres the
traditional joint ICM-CICm Christmas and New year party. For the first
time we were introduced the latest comer among the Icm sisters, Sister
Adele from Congo.
