• JOHN MANSFORD PRIOR is a Divine Word Missionary (SVD) who has been working in Indonesia since 1973. He is presently secretary of Candraditya Research Centre for the study of Religion and Culture. John was liaison with the English-speaking press during the Synod for Asia. He has previously published two articles on the 1998 Synod. “A Tale of Two Synods: Observations on the Special Assembly for Asia” (Vidyajyoti 62, 1998, pp.654-665), and “Apostles and Martyrs: Consecrated life at the Bishops' Synod for Asia” (Review for Religious 58, 1999, pp. 6- 27). And later article: “UNFINISHED ENCOUNTER: A NOTE ON THE VOICE AND TONE OF ECCLESIA IN ASIA". (Two articles referring to it: MILLSTONES AMID MILESTONES by Jojo M.
